Pumphouse & Water Treatment Facility

As part of the Government’s upgrade to Yarralumla Nursery, we constructed the new pumphouse and water treatment facility, together with the civil works and footing system for an adjoining 150,000-litre in-situ concrete water tank. The facility was designed to increase irrigation capacity by drawing water directly from Lake Burley Griffin and treating it onsite for reuse across the nursery.

Our works included geotechnical investigations and test pits to assess ground conditions and stratigraphy, followed by engineered ground improvement, compaction, and the installation of drilled piers for the tank footing system. In parallel, we completed the pumphouse and treatment building, a purpose-built structure housing the pumps, filtration, and treatment systems essential to the project’s operation.

The completed works now provide Yarralumla Nursery with reliable, modern infrastructure that delivers sustainable irrigation and supports Canberra’s landscape and environmental management into the future.
